Saturday 25 February
We headed out of the Beagle Channel and round to Cape Horn. Ubiquitous black-browed albatrosses, sooty shearwaters and southern giant petrels accompanied us.
Thursday 23 February
It is incredible to look at the maps of this region and realise that the first detailed charts were drawn by Fitzroy and Darwin on The Beagle in the 1830s.
Monday 20 February
At about one o'clock, after making final preparations, we left Punta Arenas in Chile and sailed out into the Straits of Magellan, aiming for Tucker Island by the end of the day.
