Bins and Boots Walk - Westport Lake
Tuesday 26 February
The main lake at Westport Lake is the largest body of water in the city. Despite being within the heart of a major industrial conurbation, the site has over the years produced significant birds on a regular basis. It is an important overwintering site for many water birds. The conservation area at the back of the site is home to many species including kingfishers.
There is now a new Visitor Centre at Westport Lake with a café serving hot and cold drinks and snacks. Toilet facilities are available.
Leader Jenny Wright.
Please note: this event is run by an RSPB volunteer group and organised for group members and interested members of the local community. Therefore, facilities and number of places may be limited.
