What we do
From ancient woodlands and lowland heaths to estuaries and rugged coasts, England is rich in wildlife habitats. As part of our work in England, we are restoring, creating and enhancing thousands of hectares of land to benefit people and wildlife, from reedbeds and heathland to chalk grassland and wetlands.

Hen harrier appeal
There is enough habitat for 300 breeding pairs of hen harriers in England, but only four pairs bred in 2014. In 2015, three nesting males have disappeared, and only a handful of pairs remain.
